In China, 35kV and 10kV box-type substations are commonly deployed, along with containerized SVG, DC de-icing systems, and modular PV inverters. In 2013, State Grid Corporation initiated smart substation demonstrations under the principle of "standardized design, factory production, modular construction, and mechanized installation," replacing traditional buildings with prefabricated modules.
